Celebrating the rich tapestry of cultures that defines India's eternal spirit
Unity in Diversity is India's defining characteristic. Despite differences in caste, creed, religion, language, and attire, an inner thread has bound this vast nation together. Our tribal communities have beautifully adorned this aspect of India. Currently, over 12 crore tribal people reside in India, serving as true custodians of Indian traditions, preserving ancient customs and knowledge for generations.
On 26th December 1952, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram was founded in Jashpur by the visionary Shri Ramakant Keshav and Shri Balasaheb Deshpande. Today, thousands of dedicated workers run over 21,000 service projects for tribal development across India, upholding the profound philosophy that beautifully unites all Indians — city-dwellers, villagers, and forest-dwellers alike, fostering a sense of shared identity and purpose.
City-dwellers, villagers, forest-dwellers —
